The Eric Casco  project

I'm proud to announce that Eric Casco is the first Lahaina Town Surf Co. surfer it has the opportunity to provide kokua to.  Eric is an amazing logger (long boarder).  He has the wins to prove it.  He surfs for world renowed Ule Surf Boards.  Eric is not only an amazing surfer, he is a husband and a father.  And he is born and raised in Lahaina Town.

Eric has a passion for surfing and for helping his family.  He wants to see the Lahaina Town surfing community get the assistance it needs to nurture and cultivate the talent that is so prevelant here.  "When I started surfing I had a broken board. My skagg was broken and super glued together.  I had to fix my own boards. I don't mind riding ugly boards because it shows the kids it's not about having the nicest board." - Eric Casco

Eric has been invited to the 2014 MSA Classic Invitational in Malibu, Ca where he took forth place last year.  Not bad for his first time riding a California break!  Eric in unable to attend this year if he doesn't get our kokua (help).  The contest is September 5, 2014.  Time is running out.  We need your help.

All of the profits from upcoming sales will go to assist Eric with his travel and lodging expenses.  Please provide your kokua and help this Lahaina Town boy reach his dream.

To who we provide kokua

Kokua is Hawaiian for help.  We provide help to anyone who loves surfing, lives on Maui, and needs a little help financially.  Immediately most people assume you need to be a top surfer in order for us to provide you with some assistance - that's not the case at all.  We want to help anyone that needs it.  Our focus are kids that need help, but we will help adults too.  It's our belief that if kids are involved in a wholesome activity like surfing they are less likely to get involved with alcohol, drugs, or breaking the law.

Below are some of the people we have had the pleasure of helping.  If you know anyone that loves surfing, and their family is stuggling financially, please point them our way.

The Zo Poulsen project

Say hi to little Zo Poulsen!  He's a 5 year grommet attending Kam 3 Elementary school in Lahaina.  Zo loves to surf.  His father contacted us when he heard we put out an A.P.B. for any and all surfers that needed a little help.  Zo's dad said Zo is an amazing surfer and would be nice to get a little help with buying a new board.

Check Zo with his new Kazuma!  And I love the Lahaina Town Surf Co. decals!  Rip it up Zo!

Maui Learn to Surf

So excited for the Maui Learn to Surf Program.  It's a program design to provide local Maui kids with free surf lessons once a week.  We have partnered up with The Boys and Girls Club of Lahaina to offer their kids this program.

There are many reasons why some kids never get the opportunity to surf.  We remove these barriers by providing the equipment, the transportation, and the instructors.  We feel that this program will help keep kids active, and out of trouble.  It's a win-win for everyone involved.
